America Voted on their 9 Favorite Ice Cream Flavors

Who doesn’t go crazy over the delicious, cool taste of ice cream. The world deserves to know what ice cream flavors America just can’t live without. From simple and delicious to complex and filled with extras, we’ve got the “scoop” (boo!) on the ice cream flavors that you should add to your shopping list.

1. Mint Chocolate Chip
Developed in the mid-1970’s, mint chocolate chip lives as a staple in the minds of most American ice cream connoisseurs. Usually with a distinctive Taste and color, Mint Chocolate Chip takes the number one spot for America’s favorite ice cream flavor.

2. Strawberry
A classic blend of fresh strawberries (or strawberry flavoring), cream, sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Strawberry ice cream will forever be cherished in the heart of most 12 year olds (and the adults that are 12 at heart). Usually accompanied by a distinctive pink color, Strawberry ice cream is one of the easiest ice cream flavors to identify. And it’s hard to go wrong with ordering Strawberry at your local ice cream stop.

3. Butter Pecan
On Wikipedia, Butter Pecan is listed as the “third most popular ice cream flavor in the U.S.” Well, America spoke, and sure enough, #3! Enjoy the rich flavor of toasted pecan in this ice cream flavor, primarily popular in the states.

 

4. Cookies & Cream

Malcolm Stogo, an ice cream consultant, claims to have created the flavor in 1976.” The fact that Ice Cream consultants existed in the 70’s is proof that America loves ice cream. Cookies and Cream takes the 4th spot on the Taste App.

5. Cookie Dough

As kids, our who didn’t want to lick the spoon? Take uncooked cookies and through them into ice cream? Brilliant.

6. Rocky Road
Over the years, the Rocky Road recipe has taken many forms, including ingredients such as walnuts, almonds, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. When Rocky Road comes to mind for most, they think of the creamy combination of chocolate ice cream, marshmallows, and nuts.

7. Vanilla
A timeless classic, but delicious none the less. In America, even if people describe you as “vanilla” you can take joy in the fact that you can be what you want to be, even if that means the same comb-over for the last 30 years. Plus, who would say no to free vanilla soft serve?

8. Coffee
From childhood to adulthood, you too can enjoy coffee in many different forms. Usually including real, ground up coffee or espresso beans, who doesn’t love a little pick-me up with their cone.

9. Peanut Butter Cup
Peanut Butter Cup ice cream is a dangerous recipe for peanutphiles. This ice cream is rich and creamy, and packed with miniature peanut butter cups. Must we say more?
